Elizabeth Hitchcock (engineer, businesswoman, arts enthusiast) has wanted her whole life to open a bookstore, and here we are. In order for Bookery Manchester to thrive, in the face of industry leaders like Barnes and Noble, or even digital titans like Amazon, Bookery Manchester has to be something so much more than a bookstore. We have to be a place which feels like home, with our comfy chairs and couches, our kids area, even our fireplace, we bring the cozy. Bookery has to be a community hub; a place where you can meet with friends to catch a show; a place to kick back with a drink, a good book, some delicious food, and be alone. Bookery Manchester is even a place to meet someone new. We are open daily 11-9, and we are looking to extend our hours in the future. Our cafe is open 11-5 Monday through Friday with hours 11-5 on Saturday and Sunday.

It is our community outreach which keeps us alive, it is our dedication to creating not just a physical location but a feeling that will keep Bookery Manchester alive. And we can’t do any of that without you. Welcome, to Bookery Manchester.
